Jasmine Kisses Jafar (2013) YouTube Video Recording, Michael
As a new exotic princess she was portrayed as more of a sexual being that had "to be won" (WebStarts, 2012). There were many scenes were she was displayed as a sex object. Every scene she wears revealing outfits. In one scene she wears a red outfit and is forced to feed Jafar grapes, later in that scene she is chained up and is meant to obey every request still in her revealing outfit, also when Aladdin comes to save her she uses her body as a distraction for Jafar (WebStarts, 2012). There are many scenes in this movie where men are superior to women, and women must respect and obey their every wish. This is found in majority of early Disney movies.

Jasmine is a dreamer, free- spirited, confident and kind. Jasmine is the first exotic Disney princess.
Jasmine is portrayed as being innocent, submissive and in need of protecting, however she is seen as somewhat independent (Pascale, 2005). She refuses to be married off to someone she didn't love as she wasn't afraid to break some traditions (Khan, 2009). But still was restricted by a male figure. There was pressure there from her father to be married as soon as she was of the right age, because a woman couldn't rule a castle without a husband (Menegakis, 2013). This showing the concept of arranged marriage and as in other movies in order for a women to be complete she must have a husband. Even though she rejects many hands in marriage, at the end of the movie she still must be saved by Aladdin, showing a women must need saving by a man when she is in trouble (WebStarts, 2012).
