Throughout the early 1990's women within Walt Disney productions reflected the times common ideology of a woman The films, through fairy tale, maintained gender hierarchy, their princesses were expected to be passive and submissive, while males were expected to be dominant and even abusive (Warner, 2014). Throughout the early 1990's Disney had began to break down racial beauty stereotypes through their multicultural heroines (Warner, 2014). .Disney productions still. however, focused heavily on physical beauty and the necessity of love, Disney princesses throughout the early decade were seen as completely defined or incomplete without a man (BlogspotMedia, 2005). These early productions send the message that it is only through marriage that a woman can be content. Women are also challenged with conforming to a patriarchal society and must set aside their own ambitions and desires, to be reduced to a happy housewife (Warner, 2014). It is obvious that throughout the early 1990's, women within Walt Disney productions, fell to the stereotypical appearance and purpose of a princess and conformed with their place in society.
